About Stacia

Stacia Friedman is an award-winning journalist, screenwriter and humorist. After completing her degree in Fine Arts at Temple University, she studied Writing for Film at UCLA and the American Film Institute. Winner of the Philadelphia Film Festival Screenwriting Award and a Pennsylvania Council in the Arts Writing Fellowship, Stacia served as a scriptworks juror for the Pew Fellowships in the Arts. In Los Angeles, she worked in the film industry as a story analyst for independent production companies, major studios and literary agencies.

Stacia regularly contributes Travel, Health and Lifestyle articles to regional and national magazines. A fearless traveler, she has hitch-hiked in the Negev Desert, had her soul cleansed in Brazil, and once spent an entire day inside Galleries Lafayette in Paris. Stacia previously served as the “Living Well” Editor of Main Line Today. She is the recipient of the American Jewish Press Excellence in Journalism Award and the Keystone Press Association Award for Investigative Journalism. Her short stories have been nominated for Best of the Pushcart Press.

A passionate believer in mentoring, Stacia has taught writing at Temple University, Arcadia University, Rosemont College, Main Line School Night, Mt. Airy Learning Tree and currently leads her own writing workshops in Philadelphia.
